If I understand what you are saying, no it wouldn't work. I can't turn it any better if it's out of 4x4.

Interesting thread, Im curious if much is gained by having both ends locked with an e-locker or arb. Not that we have that option in the 3rd gens yet.

I have been trying to work the numbers, and I think a detroit style locker in the front with the same ratchet on the front driveline should be able to turn when not in 4x4.

I have a posi in the front let me tell you....she skips and its pretty dang hard to turn. I would get an ARB if I where you.

Is it a clutch type, of a ratchet type posi? A clutch type will absolutely be grabby, but not a free wheeling locker.

paulb, your 02 doesn't have the CAD axle though, does it? I would think that a CAD axle could run a locker in the front and not be noticable when out of 4x4 because the collar wouldn't be there to connect the pass. side axle shaft. I have been thinking of getting a 2 low kit and welding up the front diff, but I don't have the cohones (sp?) to do it yet!
