Crankcase Evacuation Pump

A good friend of mine designed and produces vacuum pumps for a major manufacturer and the vast majority of pro drag racing. I am working with him to develop a pump kit for diesel racing and pulling. I think the incredible amount of blowby (and subsequent power losses) that the Cummins produces could be limited by the increased ring sealing that a vacuum fosters.

I am also trying to figure out how to make one live on a street truck. I'm thinking about a boost switch to activate it only when it's needed.

Anyone tried a vacuum pump on a diesel?

I don't think the tappet cover seal likes vacuum. It doesn't like very much positive pressure either. Who knows, vacuum pumps may be something we'll see on a full race engine in the near future.
