i did an a-pump conversion first and it was a lot easier than the p-pump. the stock injection pump gear bolts right on and it just needs an adapter plate to bolt up. bought straight injector lines and bent them myselt. the p-pump took a little more work and thought but definatly worth it.

Its good to see a few tractor pullers on the site. Have any of you heard of the Orange Machine I and II? A 180 and D21 that pulled in the early 70's to mid 80's? Looking to find out some more info on my fathers old pulling machines. thanks Woody

I have a JD 5020. We pull 12,500 and up and finish in the top of the class as long as there's not another 5020 or 6030 running road gear in farm stock.

Farm stock where I'm from has a broad definition. It's more of what makes the crowd have a better show. The county pull is about the only place I don't have a chance of winning.

I have been antique tractor pulling for a couple of years with a 1951 JD A 2 cylinder in the 4500 lb Pure Stock or Farm Stock class (depending on where I am). It is a lot of fun and I have made a lot of good friends, lots of red tractors around here with too many cylinders, but we take turns taking the points home.

The red owners just like a smooth sound while they get the work done! HAHA! I will give those 2 poppers some credit though, they will hang right on even when you can count the RPMs!

Yeah, the Red tractors definately have the advantage for aftermarket puller parts, heck the Super M that I pull against doesn't even sound good until about 2000 rpms then she smooths right out and hauls the mail. Meanwhile I can count the revs on the clutch pulley with Johnny Putt-Putt but we usually finish about 2 feet from each other. No matter who wins we both leave with smiles.

where i come from it corn bread and chicken and (plow class) thats the only way to get away from pullin with super hot stuff, and it has to have no hang on weights and stock apperance. you have to pull in the 2 plow class if its what the nebraska test says. And if it said 3 or 4 its your option. my boy pulls a 520 in the two plow class and has NEVER been beat or even got close to gettin beet. the tractor weighs 6,875 with fluid. most of the weighted class pullers have cut off weight so they can add it where they need it so they don't have a chance with no add ons.
