3rd gen vs 7.3 sled pull

Got a guy with a 2003 7.3 on 40" tires with 4:56 gears & locker, a TS 6 position, intake and exhaust claiming he'll outpull me or any dodge with "small tires" on the sled pull track with the mods I have....what do you think? I say he can get good traction, but if i've got good grippy tires so will I, plus i'll have a lot more power and be able to get more wheel speed quicker......what d'ya think? I need to put this dude in his place.

you say you have more power?? throw some weight in the back of your truck and hook him bumpers. (disclamer: do this at your own risk) Or take him to the track and race him. his 40's will be hurtin him...

Well i've got a lot more power. I know what a 7.3 with a TS does because I had one, lol. My 03 dodge freakin kills 7.3s unless they've got quite a bit done. He just keeps saying he can beat me at sled pulling because he has bigger tires and wieghs more....

Okay here is the link to the page that this particular forum thread is going on. I'm trying to get these 7.3 fools to wake up and realize fact, not biased opinion. Troll and see what you think. Man i'm just gonna stick over here all the time. They'll never learn!

The thread

It actually starts out as a window tint thread, but it has turned into a sled pulling debate

I say that guy needs a check up from the neck up. My 98.5 pulls way better than the 01 7.3 I got rid of thank GOD!!!!!! When I pulled both were stock with the same size tires. The only difference was the dodge has a manual tranny. the only way I would hook him is if your hitch hieghts are the same. It can make or break, I know from experience.

He's a 17 year old kid. He's trying to tell me an 03 7.3 with a TS chip, Intake and exhaust on his 40's with gears will outpull my 03 on my 33" tires with my Intake and exhaust, PPE and TST and I'm running a manual tranny.....It's just not happening, and there is no way he's putting the same numbers to the ground than I am. He outweighs me sure, but not by an extreme amount. The kid just can't admit defeat and that his truck is definitely a powerjoke.

[QUOTE=LUKE-MM-PULLER;1214197]I say that guy needs a check up from the neck up.

I'm gonna put that in my 'quotes' folder...

I'm with the rest. Yank his frame off, and leave him with the body. I've drove a 7.3 for work, and I'd rather have a hemi.

Well guys how about this 3 years ago at a local truck pull after we were done with the sled we started to hook em up. At the time I had a 94 2500 with a 360 auto, 4.10s with limited slip, and hankook mudders. I hooked an 02 dually powerjoke and drug that POS down the track way easier than the cummins I beat earlier that night. So you can tell that kid he's way out classed.

bobcat you are definitely the person to put him in his place. but then he'll complain when you win that oh you have duals which means you have more traction. The only thing that runs on a powerstroke is the owners mouth. post that comment and that will start one.

I was at a pull a few years back where everybody was running the usual smaller tires . Some clown hooked up with monster mudders and couldn't move the sled at all . Just the tire size is a disadvantage . Like trying to start off in 3rd gear against somebody starting in low .

yeah I know. He still keeps insisting I don't have a chance. He says "well i've got a locker so i'll be getting power to all 4 for sure" that may be true, but he's still got a powerstroke and I know what they do with a TS chip, intake and exhaust and it's not going to do what my truck will do with what i've got. He'll have trouble laying down his power through those big tires and he just doesn't seem to get it. I mean I'm using common sense here, and some biased dude with a big truck won't look at the whole picture.....
