Eh, hookin bumper to bumper proves nothing but who has the most traction. Has nothing to do with power. Ill run ya at the drag strip down there, if you think you can row that 6 speed though Surely you can beat a stock injectored and turbo'd 12 valve with a 160 pump

Ill more than likely be hauling Teddy Bears truck down there for the pull .

Yeah on that track he deffenitly would have been able to pull a higher gear, as i could have pulled overdrive, but it would have done nothing, you just needed alot of weight, it was pretty much like pullin on a wet road, so more wheel speed in that case wouldn't help much, cause that sled, or box of crap did not put any weight on the truck to load it.

im not racing at the track while im there. dont wanna break another tranny shifting fast. i've run a best of 15.1@94 but the synchros dont like it.

Those of you saying to run a higher gear on that dust track...you may have pulled before but do it with a manual and $1800+ clutch. i slipped it for 50' out of the hole getting that sled moving with that long chain. the 3850 12cb should last at least a whole season of pulling, but when you go using the "stupid big gear" as people call it out in Indiana then the clutch will be getting rebuilt 2-3 times a season.

A higher gear would have not kept the charger lit. if i had a gear splitter then it would have been great to pick a slightly lower ratio (higher gear) but jumping to 3rd gear high range or 5th gear low range is way too much of a jump in the final ratio.

Eric, thank you for your advice, but its just not doable with my setup, even on that dusty track.
