Minimum diesel emission requirements

Hey guys. I just bought a 2003 ram 2500 and im wondering what the Minimum requirements are for our trucks.
I live in arapahoe county and am required to have emissions tested.
My last truck was imported from canada so i didnt have to have a muffler or particulate filter. I was straight piped and passed just fine.
I want do do some work on the exhaust but dont want to catch flack for not having a muffler or what not.

Thanks in advance.

You're good w/out a muffler, these control sound not emissions. As far as a particulate filter goes, you will only see those on the '07.5 6.7L cummins. Your 03 did not come from the factory with a Catalytic converter, thats good you dont need to worry about it. If you dont want a muffler, you dont need one, If I were you I would do a turbo back 4 or 5 inch stainless. Check out the DTR store at the top of the page or go to silverline exhaust's website. If you want to do it the inexpensive way, go to genos garage and get a muffler delete pipe. $70 or so.

Okay good deal. I was under the impression i was required to have one to pass. I had a straight pipe before but i think i want something a little different .Whats a good muffler out there that gives a nice deep tone?! Any good web pages with sound clips?

I believe Corsa may have sound clips on their site. I would recommend looking at Donaldson, and Nelson mufflers. They both build muffler and filter systems for over the road trucks, but alot of guys on this site run the 51" donaldson staight thru, or the Nelson 40" strait thru. Not to mention they are fairly inexpensive.
