my dad has an 2006 880 with a D16 18 speed 3.55's (i think). It pulls about like the 550hp c15. It has has small electrical issues. The variable geometry holset turbo does not work right. 10,00 grand at Volvo to replace. We want to put a regular holset on it , but no one can tell me about reprograming the computer for one. Volovo dealers are expensive. has gone through 3 plastic tank radiators (volvo was good and warrantied the first 2) replaced the third with an all metal radiator. He had some other problem like the coolant tubes from the motor were plastic that broke. Mileage was over 6 when he first bought it. Has dropped to 4. He feels the poor mileage has a lot to do wth the turbo. Pulls a 53' spread great dane reefer. Heavy truck. Nicest ride and interior of any truck he has ever driven....but the cost of operation is expensive. He plans to go back old school and run his 97 Marmon N14 525hp 18 spd. Just can't get in from the road long enough to get it ready.
