611 CI cummins.. ISL?

can anyone give me any information on the 611 cubic inch cummins? is it a good motor? looking at one that has 3/4 of a million miles and the owner says to the best of his knowledge it hasnt been rebuilt. Thanks

Personally, I don't care for the L-10 or the M-11. I've worked on both and found that it's a pain keeping accessories such as A/C compressors attached. These engines vibrate too much.The top-end is no fun to work on, what with the large one piece head and the way the valve train is set-up. I'd much rather work on an NTC or an N14. At least they are better than a 903 or a 555.

theres a couple race trucks up here with 1000hp L10s they do ok. and there hundreds of them in our city busses.

Really?! I just did an in-frame on my m818 5ton with a nt855 and I thought the individual heads were a pain! Can't imagine huffing a single head on an engine that big...

ahhh. I'm just starting to learn about these big beasts, the 5 ton being my first. A person could bathe in that oil pan!
