Windshield chip repair
Hey Alberta folks,
As we all know, chipped windshields are a fact of life in our province. I was going to get my chips repaired professionally but when I checked the 3 vehicles I own I am already up to 10 chips. I have to drive through the construction nightmare on Hwy 22x on the SE side of Calgary where they are doing the construction for the new ring road and I am getting a new chip every couple of weeks. At this volume it is likely worth buying my own repair kit. A quick search on Google found a bunch of kits and most of them are about the same price and look like about the same quality but I can't be sure. Also, most of the distributors are in the United States. Since I live in a rural area, stuff with duty fees, customs fees etc end up at the post office. My post office is only open during business hours. Guess what - I am at work in the city during business hours, so post office pickups are a monster pain in the back end. Here is my question, have any of you purchased a windshield repair kit locally? If so, did you have good or bad results. Any feedback will be appreciated.
