If it hasn't spread across the windshield, they may be able to fill and stop it. I say MAY, because it depends on the size, and type of hit. I have had 2 little ones filled, and you don't even see them. Don't wait too long, or it might spread. I had a hit on my 02 chevy when it was a few months old, that couldn't be fixed, and i needed a new windshield. Good luck!

The place I get mine done at gives a guarantee, and if it splits, you get your money back. We've had easily 20 of these done there over the years, and none split. If they see it's too bad, they won't repair it. There have been ones I wasn't sure of, and they repaired them, and you could hardly see it. My son had 2 done on his Grand-am today. The first was a 6" split from the side of the windshield. They "drill" and seal it at the end of the crack, and fill the crack so it looks like a hair. The 2'nd was a small chip that's been there for a week. They charge $37 for the first(Canadian), and $15 for every other repair. So it cost him $52 for the 2 repairs. A new wind shield for his car is $269(Canadian).

Had one on my last truck sealed. A friend of a friend ran a glass shop. He checked it out & said it was too deep to fix but he was here (he came to my work place) & he would try anyway. Said he couldn't guaranty it & only charged me $10.00 for coming out. Well it didn't spread & I drove the truck for more 3 years. So I would try having sealed first. If it don't work out $25.00 or $30.00 won't hurt too much.

Also, check with your insurance company. My insurance covers windshield chip repair with no deductible.

In Indiana if the chip is where the windshied wipers touch they wont fix it. At least the company Magic Glass wont.

just had crystal glass (canadian) do one for me on wednesday. cost 37$ but they put that towards a new windshield when you eventually get it replaced. it was a bad one in the lower corner of the drivers side. they were saying it was a bad spot because of all the pressure and that it might spider on me if they tried. everything worked out good though and its completely flush so my wipers wont get eaten.

Ive got 3 in my 06 in 3000 miles up here, the rule of thumb is they can do them as long as there not bigger than a quarter, they put a high pressure epoxy in . but theres no garantee, about $20 bucks a pop at the glass shop.

If chip hasn't began to run, put some grease or vasoline on it.
It will stop it. Just don't turn on your wipers or you gotta mess.
