Mike, we haven't been able to get a good feel for it yet. I have been busy lately and so has the Father-in-Law. Cost is a concern, so we will have to see, $5K is pretty steep. No he doesn't drive like that...much... He has tamed a few Dmaxs that seem to think older trucks are slow.. I don't see how you could drive like an old man with twins. LOL..

I don't know why trannies blow on you...LOL...

I can almost guarantee there'll be no long haul towing with my truck.........

just a bit of racing or maybe a sled pull or two.

I think that day all the stars aligned for me that day to get the wheels to spinning like that. I'll be the transmission test-dummy for you guys. I've tired so far BD stuff, PDR and now DTT stuff. I even have a transmission jack in my garage, so instead of shipping the truck I just send the transmission. NADP is one of the few shop that do a true exchange on transmissions.
If your just looking for a cheap tranny, I saw a few used transmission go thru ebay for $800 including TC, with a month warranty on them. I thought about buying one building it up for a spare.

I have their Heavy Haul 450 minus the billet stuff with a 91% TC. It is too tight for me. I would get an 89% 1600 stall if I were to do it again.
I had mine done in April/May of 2005 and there were issues with the VB's. They had to replace mine because the trans would not lock up. That was before they had their tranny dyno, though.
I'll be in Calgary middle of March if you want to take it for a spin.

Hey Mike, if you're here before the 13th, let me know. Can finally meet. After that I'll be up in Edmonton. Just like last time, if I remember right.

Kevin,
I don't know about GP; that is kind of far, but I hear there are some good looking women up there. Is that true?

Dr. Evil,
Sounds good.

Marine Mike, that'd be awesome to have a spin. when you come through town. I'm working during the day on the 13th but I'm free in the evening or anytime the next day.

I don't really understand what the 91% and 89% talk means though.........why would you want the stall at 1600rpm with the powerband starting so much lower?

Heres what it boils down to for me in the end, I want to be making mid to high 600s rwhp with a dose of hitrous to add whatever it will add. I want an automatic that I can drag race with...........and drive on the street to work or to the store or just to waste some mustangs.

I think I will really have to look at Jeff Ks setup closer, with the ATS standalone controller for converting my stick truck very painlessly with a floor shifter.

Now another related question with autos.......are the outputs and shaft sizes comparable to the NV4500 to swap the transfercase over. Is it a round pattern 1 1/2" shaft? 29 spline? reason for that is I will be putting in a NP205 transfercase behind the auto. I have a ford driverside drop case and a 1st gen dodge 205 with the round adapter from behind the Getrag......so between that and Advanced Adapters I think I can make it go.
