Where to get T400 rebuilt????

So I need to pull the trany out of '69 Camro for a lady friend.

She claims it's a 350 car, (I'm assuming it's a T400, maybe T350? I duuno)

Where would the best place in Souithern Alberta be to get this rebuilt?

Advice would be swell.....

Could put in a 4L80E transmission. A turbo 400 with an over drive (four speed). Makes for a nice driver with 3.9 or 4.11 gears. They came in chevy 1 tons back in the early 80's

Does your lady friend know how much a 1st Gen F-body is worth these days? Especially a '69 Camaro??

Skip the automatic & go straight to a T56 6 speed manual swap! It's a bolt in swap these days.

Click on "transmission".

I don't know Joe if that would be a good idea...I have been checking the trend in F-body cars and right now, number matching cars are the big thing. They are getting way bigger resale money than a modified car.Unless you don't have to cut the car..then its ok...as long as you keep the orginal parts to put the car back to stock..

You're totally right Dave. Leaving a car or truck stock, especially a classic, will result in a higher resale value.

But that is soooo boring. My Mustang 5.0L would likely be worth way more if I hadn't totally modified it, especially the 6 point roll bar but I can never leave any vehicle stock.
Even if I owned a mint original 1st Gen Camaro or Mustang I would totally get bored of it and start modding it.

Luke's T56 trans is totally sweet. They even make a bolt-in model for my Mustang but I haven't broken the T-5 in over 4 years now.

There was a SBF T56 for sale on p-shop not that long ago. If this was about 5 years earlier, I would have been all over that. I was wanting to do a 393 stroker in my ranger with a 6 speed. How plans have changed!

A turbo400 with a gear vendors on the back, way more bullet proof and easier to run fast. A high stall converter and transbrake.
