LOL, I was thinking the same thing, I might actually get around to putting that S480 on my truck with some of the left over pieces of pipes and what not around. After all we know mine won't be a show truck. If anything I am thinking of flat blacking everything.

Project Coat-hanger: What did you do?
Twist and bend a coat hanger to make a template for all the crazy bends to be sure everything fit when you worked on it on the mock up block?

Is Jaimie on his way to BC?
Or is he putting out the fire with that last beer? (see post 1)

Hope it went great! How was the inital run? Any pictures?

Don't leave us hanging!

Been busy nights, I think Mike's neighbour hates Jamie and myself. Three nights till 1 am. He's on his way to Red Deer right now, BC tomorrow. We've had some issues that need to be remedied when he returns. Had some real frustrating issues. The good news, Mike Holmen graciously donated an S478 to the cause. He'll find out about that when he reads this. I'm expecting an angry phone call.

My back hurts, my eyes are burning and I'm hooking up the trailer right now. We will see how she works. Had to remove the manual boost controller from the cab to under the hood as it was driving me nuts hissing like a rabis cat!!!!!
I will report in a few days. No pics until it looks "prettier"!!!

Tate, you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really owe ya now Mr. You didn't skip a beat and made er happen. Thanks again.....

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like maybe a last minute problem with that new turbo? R&R?
The instal was looking good last time I was up so I am surprised to hear there were any serious issues. Anything that will be common to my set I should start working on?

Mike is just that kind of a guy.....

Glad to see Jaimie rolling with Twins In July! Good work guys. Hope the bandaides dont give him any grief on the road. Doesnt sound like you had much time to tune and tweak.

Have a safe trip and a great holiday Jaimie. Weather looks like it will be awsome! Send a report when you can.

That in cab controller really looked like the cats meow. Is the hissing a defect, install issue, or is that normal? Does the one from ASW do the same thing? I am hoping to put the controller in cab as well. Perhaps a guy needs to talk to Mike about the electronic one he was talking about? Any thoughts on the controler guys?

Jamie's install issues (other then the turbo) were just about time. Once he is back from BC, we will go through it all and fix all the small details.

That source mount is what caused just about every headache we had, directly or indirectly. Had to custom fab a down pipe, all while bending the tranny dipstick for clearance. Then at the front side, the turbo is in a spot that it directs the intake right into the filter, as you seen. There is room to move that turbo out 1.5-2" out, and alleviate both issues. Had that happened, it would have went much more smoothly.

Jamie made it about 30-40km west of Airdrie today and dropped an injector. That was around noon. It was running with a new (to us) injector from Rob by 3:30. I hope that his trip goes much smoother than this past week has.

ASW gents (or anyone else who wants to answer), please explain something to me. A friend of mine was here today with his 2007 Mega Cab 3500 - 5.9 L. We parked his truck beside mine, opened hoods and compared stuff on the engines. I know he has a common rail engine and mine is a VP engine but we were stunned by the differences. The biggest thing we noticed was that my turbo (2000 5.9L) is way up nice and high. His exhaust manifold exits downward and the turbo is way down by the bottom of the engine, right by the frame rail. Why in heavens name is the whole turbo geometry totally different on the 2007 CR 5.9 than the earlier years of 24v 5.9L engines?

Thanks again guys for helping me back on the road with that bad injector! Have had all kinds of issues but made her to Victoria. No twin issues though!

All kind of boost codes and rail pressure codes and issues??? Never had these codes before until we tried to crank over the engine when we were priming the turbos. I'm thinking that messed up something on the cp3 or a rail pressure sensor or the relief valve. Today I was cruising at 90kms and the rail pressure is usually at 16-17000 psi but I was down to 4000psi with no power what so ever? Then let off on the throttle for a bit then it came back to normal? Then had high pressure too? Cruising at 24000 psi at any throttle which is usually 22000psi at wot.

I guess I will start first by changing out the rail pressure sensor and try that. Then try the rail pressure relief valve. If that doesn't cure it then I will put my 75% CP3 on. It has to be one of the three!

Did you disconnect anything when you were priming the turbos? Did you hear any popping when your rp was at 4,000? If you didn't then I'm betting you have a bad connection at the sensor which is causing the ECM to receive incorrect readings causing your issues. With 90's you shouldn't be drawing the stock pump that low, then again, every truck is different.

He's on stockers right now. We unplugged the injector harness at the head to keep it from starting so we could prime up the turbos. Tried unplugging the crank sensor, but it still fired up with that off. I figured that worked on Torrey's truck, it might have worked here.
