What's wrong with priming turbos by hand. before install? I've never done it any other way. And I do a couple a week usually.

Yes they were. I figured if crossed signals wouldn't let the truck run, no signal out of one wouldn't let the truck run. For that, I was wrong.

Normally, I would. Getting at the oil line for the big one was an extreme PITA. Cranking it to prime it is just as effective provided the truck doesn't start. Give me a 12v, and thats no issue. CR's are voodoo to me. I'd be content to never work on one again.

Mmmm no, I mean fill the turbo with oil while its on the bench before you even put the feed line fitting in, spin it by hand to coat the shaft. then install it on the engine. no fuss no muss, and its ready to rock.

Jamie do you have a pressure box on there? If you dont, put one on,, it will fix those issues. If you do have one, then you might need to wipe the ecm and reprogram it from start again.

He'll find out about that when he reads this. I'm expecting an angry phone call.
No worries, I'm just gonna get something bigger to replace it with. I wonder if its your throttle sensor gone. When I parked the truck Jamie, the truck tried to run off. Lucky it was cold and there was no power. I just shut-off the truck. These new truck are all run by electronic throttle sensors, no apps module. Common issue.

When you get back buddy, we will fix the hissing and a few other issues. Sorry mon not being here for most of the build. I'm gonna buy a S491 to replace the S478. The S476 will be going back for warranty.

The bottom turbo was in before I started working on it. Top one is easy to do, but I figured since we'd have to prime up the lower, may as well do them both this way. I can't see pulling those two plugs causing erratic rail pressure like this, but these aren't my forte.

What plugs did you pull before we pulled the 2 injector harness plugs?

I got a new apps sensor he in Victoria and have a rail pressure sensor and a relief valve here too. Gonna change them one by one and see if that cures all these codes that keep popping up. Next will be a new II 33% CP3. If that don't cure the problem, she going for sale..........

Jamie, you are a brave man to make the maiden voyage 1200 Km to the coast! I really hope you have better luck to get you back safe. Otherwise you might have to look up some of those west coast gurus.

I had to or else my wife would kill me! She was mad as it was cutting it hours before we had to leave. I should have just kept it stock and did it when I got back but wanted the twins on to make it easier to tow through the mountains with a 6" lift and 37's. Much easier towing in Alberta. I was amazed she didn't beat me when I lost that injector by Airdrie. But enough about that, we will fix it and carry on.

I wonder if your APPS is the same as a 6.7? If it is, return your dealer item and you can have mine. Save you a bunch of cash. Not sure on the dealer return policy on electronics though.
