Not anymore - Im too cheap...

But we could all pitch in and get some bulk discounts maybe. Peavey Mart usually carries Amsoil and some of the Parts Source stores around Edmonton have it as well.

I have a dual bypass that I have to install when it warms up.

Dave, dont be afraid of running the 15W40 HD Marine and Diesel oil - it has a pour point of -43 or so.

As much as I like the Amsoil, I dislike the marketing. Im thinking of switching to the Mobile XD-3 0W40 full synthetic for year round use. Its GOOD stuff.

I dont remember all the details but in the final analysis it seemed like the risk reward wasn't there. I change way to often (filters at 5k oil at 10k km) running amsoil synthetic and concluded that a broken hose would be far worse than not having extra filtration.

I may have reached the wrong conclusion and would also be happy to hear others experience.
I don't think I have ever heard of a broken hose. The hose is the kit is of very high quality. You can also opt to have your own hoses made locally. I am using 3,000 psi hydraulic hoses with crimped on ends on the CTD, but my wifes rig has the amsoil hoses and they are pretty stout.

What oil and filters are you running? The OEM OCI is 12K Km, so there is no need to dump the oil at 10K or the filters at 5K, unless your hitting an annual mileage limit.

Dave, you daily drive the old girl going downtown? Espar is probably the best thing going and you could just run regular 15W40 oil from anywhere.

I know I sure want one, after this year. My trucks been outside the entire year with weak batteries. So I run full sythenic.

Like Dr. Evil said, even normal oil pours at -43c, slowly. Espar, will keep the engine nice and warm year round.

I just run the standard Fleetguard oil filters which are about $12 each at Cummins. What do the Amsoil synthetic media oil filters go for locally in Calgary?

I'm sure the Amsoil oil filters are better than the standard Fleetguard but if they are 3 or more times the cost it's not worth it to me.
I'll just keep going with basic oil filters & dino oil but with short oil change intervals. I run 10W-30 in the winter, 15W-40 in the summer.

That's been my strategy for years with good results in our previous vehicles. Basic filters & dino oil but short 5-7000 km oil changes. Also different viscosities for winter & summer.

I run the Amsoil 15w-30 HD Diesel and Marine with the EA080 filter. Like I said, way overkill, but I can remember changes easier -full on 10s filters on 5s. It costs more, but I "feel" better knowing im using a better than stock oil at shorter intervals. Not an approach for everyone of course.

I run Mobil1 Delvac 0W40 in the 08 year round with Stratapore Fleetguard filter.

I still switch to 15W40 on the 97 for summer running. Drains on 10K intervals.

Overkill is a mild way of putting it. The Amsoil filters are 25K miles filters, there is no need to change them prior to the full OCI. New filters are actually less efficient than used ones, so really you should leave the filter in there for the full interval, no risk of it getting plugged (unless you forget you install an air filter).

I also assume you meant the AME 15w-40?

I change my AME every year, which these days is about 7000-9000 miles, which is overkill as well, but the full flow runs for the full time, and the bypass for two years.

As long as the espar works, Paul is not real happy with the ones in the FL's, hasn't been able to use them all winter.

Any issue I had with the Espar has been the fuel supply sucking air and 1 time the intake tube frosted off. Other than that its been good.

Thats not exactly right Mike. The Amsoil 15W40 Synthetic has additives which lower the pour point for much better cold weather performance

The pour point on HD Marine and Diesel is -42C -> http://www.amsoil.com/msds/ame.pdf , which is quite different than a convenional 15W40 oil

Yep, consider Delo 400's pour point is only -22*F.
