Who is ripping you off? It retails for $24.80 US, which is $24.20 CDN as of this morning!

Hey guys I just saw the funnest thing, I thought I would like to share with you guys. Just saw a brand new ford 2011 diesel 3500 Hurley 4X4 fleet company wagon, fill up his tank with gasoline. Wonder what that will do for his warranty.

I took off before the real fun started to occur. Figure that people would see a yellow fuel cap, maybe its a diesel truck, not a gaser.

Mike you're awful........It's a company truck, worst case the guy will prolly just get fired........Don't think they'll take it to the shop, they'll just empty the tank and refuel, it should be ok.........
And then there's ppl trying to stop me from putting diesel in Mrs's golf )

Thanks Alex This was at a big card lock in Calgary, the guy was at least four rows away from me. Even if I yelled at him, it wouldn't have made a difference, might have got the bird in return.

I prolly would've taken a chance on the bird.....Then beat him with a broom stick.......However I agree, sometimes ppl need to learn the hard way......I remember this hot black chick that was my Yellow Pages rep also drove a Grand Cherokee diesel and she was also told several times not to fill up with DIESEL
Don't ppl know that the diesel nozzle won't fit in a gasser(car).

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be at the Cummins shop buying Fleetguard oil filters for $12each!

Just kidding..

While I agree the Amsoil oil filters are better than the Fleetguard filters are they twice or 3 times as good to match the increase in price?
I would not feel comfortable leaving an oil filter in for 15000miles/25000 km.

edit:

A quick check on Ebay shows the Donaldson ELF7349 for about $14each + $20 shipping to Montana for 10 filters. So that's about $16 each to Montana. That's much more reasonable.
I couldn't find the Amsoil EaO80 filter on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Donal...Q5fAccessories

(Amsoil oil filter for Cummins is p/n EaO80 or Donaldson p/n ELF7349.)

Why? If the filter is good quality and still pulling material out of the oil, why throw it out before its due? With oil analysis you can see when the filter starts to fill and change when required. (That would be a full on synthetic oil/oil life strategy)

We tend to keep our vehicles for a long time & I've had really good luck running name brand standard dino oil & oil filters with short oil change intervals.
Not sure how I stumbed into that strategy but it's habit. I've barely ever run synthetic oil, would find it difficult to run extended oil change intervals.

Our previous Acura/Honda had 240 000km over the 10 years we had it. I ran that car on name brand cheapo oil & filters & it never burned a drop of oil.
Our neighbour still has it, now over 300 000km on the original untouched engine.

My last truck (Ranger 2wd 4.0L V6 5 spd manual supercab) had over 420 000km on it when I sold it. I used it for work when I lived in Red Deer.
No issues ever on that engine. I still see that truck around town.

At approx $16 each for those Donaldson oil filters, I can see myself picking up a case of those the next time I'm in Montana.
