I might be able to dig a flaring tool up. I think my old man has one as well. Your talking 1/2"

Are you coming to Edmonton anytime soon?

Swagelok would be better though...

It isnt a normal flare like a brake line. it is (what Tate calls) a male flare. Basically the flare fits into the fitting and the nut clamps it down from there,, if that makes any sense

Kev, what are you using the flare line for? If its for fuel supply lines, go with swedgelock, you don't need any special tools and they will have all fittings you can dream of to get your project work. If your doing brakelines, go with the flare tool.

Yeah looked it up - 1/2" X 0.065" wall 316 SS tubing is rated for 5100 psi. But there is a 4:1 safety factor built into that number.

What kind of material are you using for this Kevin?

No go on swagelock, no go on hydraulic shops, at least here. They have never even seen a flare like that... I have sent some emails out to see what I can find down in the states

Put pressure to the bottom, to open. Put pressure on top will increase opening pressure thats require to open. Its 1/8npt and should be easy stuff to find. Hopefully you have a greggs outlet. You could also run the brakeline air hose, its easier to hook everything up. They probably have the air pressure regs there as well, just tell them your looking for a regulator for automotive painting 0-100 psi and a 0-50 psi for ranges.

Find out the seat opening pressure, mid travel pressure and fully open pressure for both gates.

After that find an open road and do some tuning. What are you planning on using for measuring instruments? A few gauges and thermocouples at the right point will tell you lots of good info.

Think of your boost from your engine as the air compressor. I typically set my wastegate to start openning at 22 psi and to be fully open around 36psi.

Let me know how you make out on fittings and the regulator.

Talk to Schied's, they are the ones that made my lines. They are all custom bent, so if you give them dimensions, they should be able to do it. Just make sure you look for leaks when you first start, I have had a spring a leak on me on the backing collar between the flare and the nut.
