stand alone controllers/valvebody swap

besides ats does anyone make a standalone tranny controller thats worthy....of the $$$.

can a non electically controlled valve body be swaped into a re style tranny?
whats the procedure.
can say a dunrite valvebody for a rh be put in a 47/48re?

after looking high and dry for a built non electronic auto or manual all i seam to come across is newer stuff. a stand alone controller is redonkulously priced.

Have you looked into the kits to convert to a full manual valvebody? Then the only thing you need to control is lockup.

full manual valve body means i need to put in a slap shifter. wiring for the lock up doesnt worry me.I would like to keep drivability there then once in a blue moon my girlfriend can drive it..

ill make some calls today.........ive hear it can be done but dont know how or how much that would run someone.

ideally a rh suncoast performance valvebody in a 48re would be nice

Funny thing we get tons of guys wishing that they had an older truck like your ride, with no electronics (CR engines seem to melt down). The RH is the best choices if you’re on a budget. You probably just get away with a decent built transmission/converter, with no billet shafts. Depends on your right foot and how you drive. The only real bonus to billet shafts is you can do harder boost launches.

The stock input/output shafts do take lots of abuse, and you can upgrade down the road once the cash flow returns. Input shafts are easy and the output shafts aren't that difficult either.

lots of money.
ats makes one.
from the research ive done it seams you can either go full manual valve body or put a new valvebody in and it should work.

all the parts for a build on the 47rh i found..
-triple disk converter.
-billet input shaft
-billet output shaft
-full clutch pack.....raybestos high energy,.
-all billet actuater/4.2lever/band strut/servo
-biilet alluminum clutch piston to put 5 clutchs instead of 4 for 3rd gear
-bushing kit
-complete rebuild master kit(all seals etc.)
-filter

for a total of $3400 plus tax.
need a dunrite valve body....approx $600.

thats RETAIL for everything

so tell me why a grand total of parts INCLUDING converter and billet parts is $4000+ tax
,and every performance tranny shop sell theirs for $3800 plus converter plus billet parts really?

nadp $5800 bucks plus core plus tax with billet input/converter no output or billet drum. another 800 for the output

is that right? $1800 for labour/and thier warranty.
is this not a 1 day job? $225 and hour for sh0p rate

so if i can find a tranny guy to build it for reasonable amount great if not
ill be learning i guess
