Stacks

Well its time to put in a set of stacks. Do you any of you know of anyone that makes a set where the cross over pipe goes under the bed and not on top? Also do any of you guys know of a quality shop around red deer that can put em in?

AFIK they are all designed to go on top of the bed. the problem with under the bed is the driveshaft making contact with the crossover pipe

There doesn't seem to be enough room between the bed and the frame for it, unless you squish the pipe down, but I thought it would be too restrictive. Mine is in the bed, and I built a custom toolbox that fits inbetween and on top of the pipes.

Don't forget about the fuel tank is in the way down there as well. Most just cut a hole in the bed. The stack hole helps to drain the water out of the bed. Its an easy repair to weld in a patch panel, so don't sweet cutting a hole.

Yeah, you're gonna have a hard time going under the bed because of the fuel tank...

Madhat, how does your fuel gauge work? I didn't see it hooked up.

What kit are you using on the tank? I want to modify my 2010 so I can run a fass system. The 2010 has a in-tank fuel pump and I don't want to cut to many wires or put holes into the tank.

I had the wires unhooked. It still runs from the fuel sending unit.

Had to patch a couple of holes... so I pulled the canister out.

There was a 2nd gen at DPS' dyno with the crossover under the box, never did end up going over and looking under it lol. Best bet if you did want to attempt this would be a rectangular crossover box as opposed to a y pipe, prolly give you more room. Common sense dictates to just put it in the box though, much less hassle lol.

What kinda of fuel pick-up you running from the tank? Looks like decent sized lines, and it might flow enough fuel.

It's classified...

They're just air dog lines. 1/2 inch. The pump normally keeps me at 17 psi, and at WOT I can pull it down to about 10 psi.

I'm thinking about just installing a sump and some 3/4 PVC or something....

Where is your fuel pressure gauge located at? Might have to copy some of your handy work for the 2010 truck. Been scared to drive it as I want to install another fuel filter system and get rid of the stock pump. You running two CP or going the big CP route?

That's what I was thinking of doing at first, but I just cut a hole in the bed. If you had a 3" body lift it would probably give you a lot more room also.

I wanted the cross over pipe to go under the bed so when i have a slip tank built it would be easier to build. Just going around the stacks would be easier than having to deal with the crossover pipe too.
