Spring storm - here we go again

So, 2 weeks ago I posted that Environ Can had issues a winter storm warning and nothing happened. I have been holding back all day. Our dear Environ Can issued another winter storm warning today despite the fact that it is no longer winter!! Well, it has started here, SE of Calgary near Carseland. It is snowing! I can't take any more, I pumped out the ditch at the end of the driveway for 2 hrs yesterday morn and our road is pretty much washed out in 2 places between the house and the highway. Some poor dude down near High River was taking a dirt road this morn before dawn and didn't know the culvert under the road was frozen up and water was going around it. His truck collapsed the road and fell into a hole 20ft long and 8ft deep. The province suggested that back road drivers beware of the fact that roads might be washed out or compromised and that we should be on the lookout. What should we do - are there any ground penetrating radar upgrades for the front bumpers of our truck? If the weather office is right this time, button down the hatches cause it is gonna get nasty. Scott in Saskatchewan - hang on tight because this all has to melt and we are sending it your way.

Well we have about 4" on the ground here in Irricana so far. Wind is blowing fairly good and it's still snowing hard.

7 inches on the ground here in Sundre, no wind and visibility is about 100 ft. Real ugly right now and coming down real hard.

Yep and I have to drive to Jasper in a few hours, great!

It is blowing and snowing here still this morning. A fw inches of really heavy, wet stuff on the ground. I guess it is a 'stay at home' day.

Fun driving today around the city---glad it was Saturday---not Monday with the morning rush.I can knock of most of my calls on Sat before most even think about going outside. Two near misses today and the fella that lost control on Crowchild today in his "RICE-ROCKET" that did a 360+ across 3 lanes and stopped in mine, probable had to change his shorts when he got home,as i slammed on the brakes and stopped with my grill less than 6 inches from his driver side window/door,would of been a good T-bone.Lucky for him very little traffic at 8:00AM.Snow is deep up in Citadel---played with the dually in the back alley for a bit----4hi,virgin snow about 15 inches+some two foot drifts---truck was working a bit but no stuckky. These BFG KM2's throw the snow real good, even better if i had left the 2500LBS of limestone gravel in the bed like I did last year.---------------PS--- WIFE JUST CALLED FROM FLORIDA TO RUB SOME SALT IN OUR WOUNDS WEATHER WISE----+30C FROM THE DECK OF HER CRUISE SHIP WITH A COLD DRINK IN HANDDW.

Probably just get a whisper in Airdrie, as per every storm so far this year. But I have to say, the weather up here in McMurray is absolutely beautiful right now. Too bad I can't really enjoy it.

Yup got enough that the vw plows the driveway with its bumper, and I am sick on the couch, just watching it fall. I really wanted to bomb around on my sled this afternoon, just don't have the capacity right now.

The only real heavy snowfall at home and I miss it.

Oh well, I'll have to live with above zero temps, sunny skies and that unmistakable smell in the air.

I thought the road were in decent shape, only 20cm in the city. Nothing too serious. A lot melted today, probably by the end of the week, we will have the bare grass again. Suppose to get +14 by next weekend, they sure like to tease us. I know better though.
