SNOW STORM! No 4WD Again!!!

Replaced vacumn line connectors at tcase (thanks TXDIESEL)

4WD worked for like ONE day.. We are in the process of getting 9 inches of snow right now, and 4WD now DOES NOT work. Vacumn connectors at the axle have vacumn on the left side when viewed from behind. For some reason the vacumn "chamber" pivots up and down. Is that normal?

Please let me know, thanks!

If I got the idea right [ the vacume chamber moving ] you do not want the part that is spouse to operate the shifter in the axial to move , it could be that the shifting fork is getting dirty inside and making to much resitance for the plastic to not wear out , so take out the fork clean the area and if you can'nt keep the plastic from moving , get a new one.

If I remember right there is a circlip that holds the shift motor in place.
You have to remove the housing to access it.

I messed with the connectors, I turned it upside down and tried it, then turned it the right way.
It works now. It clunked into place and now seems to work.. Probably until NEXT time I really need 4WD

The boot connections are really loose, probably because they had oil on them. Is it quite important that they are really tight fit?

I had problems with the plug on top of the xfer case so I pulled the plug off and ran the hoses directly to the plug, the factory lines are 1/8" ish and the plug is 3/16" ish so I used a transition on each of the four ports....it now works like it should, the total time invested was less then 1/2 hour, it might be worth a try if you have vacuum to the plug but it drops/dissappears at the axle.
