Oil in fuel filter.

Hey guys,

So a friend of mine changed his fuel filter this morning and it had oil on it. He hadnt changed it in just over 50 000k. His check engine light is on and it says a problem with fuel delivery(checked it with his superchip programmer). Could this be an injector problem? He has no Diesel in his oil that he can notice. He has a 2006 3500. We are up in Grande Prairie right now so I was wondering if any knew of a reliable place to take take it in, other than the "***********".
Thanks.

Thats weird. I'm not aware of any spot that engine oil can crossover to get into the fuel filter canister. I would however venture a bet that what ever was in it.....came from the fuel tank. and pooled in the bottom of the filter can. but for sure its so dirty hardly any fuel passes through it.

50k+ on a fuel filter ............every 10k

Could be bad fuel.

What code is he seeing? What year is the truck? Does it have a fuel pressure guage? If so, what kind of pressures are you seeing?

Morkable might be ablt to point you towrd someone with a scanner/smarty to delete the code.

Thanks for the help guys.

Shortly after I posted this he tryed to stab me in the back with the president of the company over the way I was running things out here, so he was told to spool his rags!. So his problems are the least of my concerns now!

Right now I'm at home awaiting my first child(due date was today), but however when I get back up to G.P. in the next few weeks I do plan on checking them out!!
