IIRC I had an AOD in a late 80s F150 when I was a punk kid or maybe it was a C6

Is it an E4OD, or an AOD? I thought the former only came in the heavy duty trucks, and the latter in the F-150's and stangs and full size cars.
Mine was the E4OD I had a 5.0 in mine. I imagine his truck would be the same.

1800.... the original owner did it as the transmission was slipping bad however when i was pricing out 4r100's (same transmission basically) they wanted 2400 this year so...

everyone else was telling me upwards of 2100-2200 when I was pricing them out, the old guy said if i found a place reasonable he would do it for me and add the cost to the purchase price (the truck was a good looking unit I didnt want it to go to waste)

Just saw this on kijiji. The electronics could be the later style, but i'm sure they could be swapped out of the wrecked tranny, especially for the price of this one.

I know this is kinda thread jacking, but I was riding in the copter coming out camp today. I had a quick lesson in the cab of copter. We get air born, the guy start showing me the difference on the two stick controls in the air. We land at the Highlevel airport, a ex-miltary trainer rolling thru onto the strip. We land the copter 50ft from the plane. I must have drooled, I was told that plane was $3.5 million, and the guy was taking it out for a rip. Its a two seater.
