New 12V engine build-up.

Ok, I'm not 100% happy with the paint job, I ran out of paint, but here is a few snaps of the engine that we Airdrie guys been working. Its an 02 24VP block, 12V rods-english (balanced/polished/rebushed), 370 marine pistons, stage 2 ported/oring head new 12V head, 180HP pump. Haisley rod bolts, stage 3 colt cam/springs. The 911 injection pump has been full racked, 4kgsk and AFC full travel. Been a fun build. Want to thank Tate and Brett for helping me out with this one. The engine should be going into the truck shortly. The truck is a 98 24V five speed black sport. Nice truck.

I must had enough parts laying around my garage to build three engines. Still sitting on two more storm blocks, 24V cranks and 12V rods. I don't know what I'm going to do with the 98 24V (probably a 53 block) engine yet. It has about 400000km on it, and takes awhile for the oil pressure to come up on a cold start. Sounds decent and still makes ok power for a stock truck. Most of the 12V parts come off that engine I bought off Jason. One of the pistons was pretty melted. These engines are pretty decent engines to work on.

Probably going to build a stock 03 HO engine next since I have three of them. Two of them are complete units.

Thanks guys for inspiring me. Its been a blast.

Supposed to be able to squeeze 1000hp out of a 12v is that true?

Will they hold up i just got rid of a ford not a bad truck. But you can't run a tuner with out having ARP studs and that no guarantee. I couldn't afford to replace the head gasket every year

The trick to getting 1000rwhp is getting enough fuel into the cylinder, after that getting enough air for it to ignite and burn decently.

This is just a decent street motor. The guy just wants to run stock 215 injectors on a stock turbo

Kinda of a weird set-up for a daily driver set-up, but I put this package together for very little money. This engine probably will be around the 400-450rwhp range. With the right injectors and twins set-up, easily handle 700-800rwhp. Has the best of parts inside it.

I have another engine build that we plan to break into the 1000HP mark, with a 12mm injection pump. I have a set of 8X0.018's injectors coming in. I have a billet cam and pistons fly cut 80thou. The head has a maxed out porting and the intake has been hacked off. Larger chevy valves have been installed into the head. I'm probably going to build my own gridle for the engine, as I bought one from Haisley and it junk. I'm using 14mm mains and 14mm head studs for this build. At some point I want to get a 13mm CDS pump.

I'm dropping off a few parts at the powder coating today just give the engine some more underhood blingyness. Its going into a neat 98 sport quad cab five speed 4X4 cab.

Its all how to build it and get the components to work together. You can blow any engine up if you try. But the V-8's have a hard time holding the lid on once you get to that power level and the short crank and mains can't take the abuse. The early DMaxs start to crack the block near the rear main over the 800 hp mark. If you think about it, to make the 1000 hp in a 6 cyl vs and 8 cyl its more ponies per hole, but the I6 has a main on either side of the throw instead of sharing one with its best buddy across the V. The geometry makes it more reliable.

The old truck had ARP studs 180cc injectors a CFM+ intake elbow or like the 5.9 horn black onyx head gaskets airdog II stage 1 fuel lines. They come with a steel crank the main cap are one piece
It had strong bottom end. last thing i was going to do was a powermax turbo. You just can keep the heads on them even with head studs couldn't afford to replace head gaskets every year. Do you guy know of a link to manual for the cummins 5.9 like the 6.0 bible. What do you think about oil bypass i found this one look's like a nice setup Ebay ads not allowed on DTR

In my opinion, oil bypass filtration is something you would not do cheaply. The filter is the most important part and usually not cheap. AMSOIL is a good name and makes good stuff.

IMHO not necessary, but good for piece of mind.

A 1000 hp is looking at O-ringing the head and good head gaskets too. AS far as Bible? not sure. The tips and tricks get pretty proprietary with the big power boys.

Here is something a little more all out... (I'm a big fan of this rig)

A lot of custom stuff on that. Looks like the Amsoil filter would add $40. to a oil change.
I got family in Alberta and B.C the last i heard one of my cousins was working at the oil wells in the north west territory's. Both of my Parents are from Canada i have been there twice but never seen snow
