I have a heavy duty ball joint press, I have the upper out now, just those bottoms are a real bugaboo. The bottom of the axle is angled and you can't get a good even push on them. Dodge told me that they can get it in on Wednesday, and I've done all of the work, so it shouldn't be too pricey. The truck should have some pretty jewerly hanging on it after this all done. Maybe I can hang with you cool dudes at the next GTG without bring a gaser to the party.

Not yet, I have Friday off so I'm going to try really hard to get the pan off.
For those ball joint presses I find it works well to wack the end of the press(the screw) with a hammer, then tighten, then wack....repeat as needed. Haven't had to resort to heat yet.

You do NOT have to pull trans to pull engine. It's all in how you hook up the lift chain. you want to pick it up nose down instead of the usual nose up. This will allow the valve cover to clear the cowl and then allow room to lft over cross member.

IIRC Mike the OTC/Miller adapters are angled to get a straight push on the ball joint with the tool. Probably a good call to haul the axle down to the dealership and let them fight with it-I'm not bright enough to make a decision like that!

I found out why my ball joints was so stuck. The hubs were toast. Both sides. They had to beat them to come apart. I can't believe that those bearings are so pricey. They are $450 a piece.
Anybody have an idea on you prevent that from occurring in the future?

Nothing fancy here its been a slow process put everything back together.
Correct me if I'm wrong on pulling an engine. Remove head, intercooler, rad and bumper. The motor mounts come out. Unbolt from tranny. It should just slide forward. There at least of 4in of movement. Angle/lift the motor for the sump to clear but it should come out. Am I missing something. I wouldn't completely remove tranny, if should just slide backwards with the TC case attached. I just rested my tranny on top of the tranny brace. Theres lots of room. You have to remove the tranny support. The tranny brace you have to beat out and press bac in.
You of course have to remove the axles to do this. I've pulled my converter this way. I've never removed an engine completely, just everything around it.
