Thumbs down I've been Re-Conned

Ordered a set of cab lights and interior light package from Recon Accessories and recieved items in a timely manner. Went to install and the 3rd light flickered twice and died, project came to a halt. Tried to install interior light kit and 1 blister pack had Chev light other one was correct for the 07, neither were compatible with the auto-fade interior lighting system. Cab lights come with "old style" foam gaskets but can be retro-fitted with the stock rubber units from factory, far superior to the foam for leakage. I spent my money, lights look good but be careful their warranty is NO money back and a case of e-mail cat and mouse all to be completed in 90 days from purchase. Putco also makes a kit of LED cab lights/clear lens not as popular and less complaints, I may try again with the Putco. On another note Light Force 170's installed and WOW nice lights and thanks to Grimm,s good service. PK

This isn't the first time i've heard of issues with recon product, can't remember who and where, but they weren't impressed either.

You got some then........perfect. Glad I could help.

My Recon smoked lights have been virtually flawless. The only problem I had was with those little wires moving on the plugs at first install. I just held the wires in place as long as possible while plugging into the OE receptacle. Since then, they've never gone out.

Recon sucks-I ordered clear lights for my truck, when they did finally arrive, they were smoked. Sent them a polite email telling them they had screwed up, got an answer back basically saying they were out of clear and they figured I would like smoked better anyways.... So I have a nice set of smoked ones sitting on a shelf in my office reminding me everytime I walk in how much I dislike Recon. I would buy the stuff again if I needed it-as they seem to be the only source for a lot of that stuff-but never directly from them ever again....

The more I read on these guy's and their junk it amazes me why no legal action has been taken in the states, they are lawyer crazy down there. the concept does not make sense, if quality was better, sales and reputation would both increase substantialy. Love the new truck but that Getrag shifts like a MacCormick & Deering tractor. I think the factory overloads are going to fall off and air ride assist is going on like the old truck. Truck prices have also fallen and deal on 2001 fell through. My kid gets to drive it as it is paid for, insurance will be cheaper. New truck will get a thorough work out this summer going to New Mexico with camper, trailer & Jeep=22600lbs gross. PK

I ordered clear clearance roof markers, and the dually fender clears from recon. The cab lights were actually of decent quality but wow were the fender lights cheesy...if they would have built them somewhat identical to the old orange and red ones they would be great but these ones were 3-M stick on double side tape and 2 of them fell off with great ease when it got cold and i had to hard wire them in cuz the harnesses were crap. Needless to say they need some refinement!
