injector failure

Lost an injector today, time to do all of them I guess. Who is the best in canada or Calgary to send them too for a rebuild? Nothing fancy just stock.

You want one or six injectors? You want used or rebuilt or new?

i figure its probably a good idea to do all 6. just pulled them all tonight, figured i would get them tested???? then go from there as i don't know any better. Checked resistance on them when i was about to pull them out, all were around .8 ohm except the #4 was about 45.

I would love to get new ones but the budget really can't afford much more on this truck, so i figure i will prob end up with remand ones.

Suggestions?

These guys should be able to help you outhttp://www.gclfuelsystems.com. I don't know if they're of any relation to GCL Diesel here in Edmonton though...

They are not affiliated with the Edmonton branch, or they weren't 8 years ago. I had work done in Edmonton when my VP44 ate itself, said I had to come back to Edmonton if I had issues, Calgary wouldn't touch it since they are separate. Never tried to see if it were true, though.

since you have the 2 micron filter I think the cracked crystal was a fluke. most are cracked from dirt binding the components and causing undue stress on the crystal. if you change them out go to 50 hp nozzles, change the cam out to a pdr or colt stageII, and get a smarty jr. this will get rid of most of the in-cylinder egr and give 40% better mpg. pdr has everything you need and is near Vancouver. to long to list why the 50 hp helps with this

I looked around Calgary for you today, best price I could find was $320per injector plus core (reman's). I would personally call Exergy and get them to over night six new injectors (35% work awesome and don't smoke to bad). I bet that you could get a set of injectors in less than 24hrs.
The BMS (seven hole) marine nozzles works awesome, used them in a few trucks. Might abit hot for a stock turbo, but that easily fixed.

How many miles on your injectors and what level were you running your Smarty on?

The injectors are not hard to change on these trucks. Read up on it, time consuming but not hard.

If you plan on keeping your truck, new injectors are the long term answer.
I also wouldn't rely on a local shop to test CR injectors. Only a few specialized injector shops in the US can fully test them out.

I personally wouldn't run the Bosch Motorsport 7 hole injectors on the 04.5-07 5.9 piston bowls but many do.
Like Mike mentioned, Exergy Performance is an excellent injector shop.

so injectors are out and being tested at GCL in calgary. They looked very very dirty on the nozzles when i took them out. I found a set of used ones with 140000kms on them for about 250 each, they have been bench tested and no problems with them. Mine have 253000 on them.
I have looked into exergy, and locally and ya about 350 and up is what i found for remans from bosch.
But superior power products here in calgary found me some remans from Chatham Fuel Injection for 250/ I contacted them and they are bosch certified injectors with genuine parts that they sell for 323/ to the general public so obviously superior power has a good in.

I do plan on keeping the truck for a good bit of time longer, running smarty jr on towing mode.

If my injectors come back good x5 with one bad one, is it a bad idea to run a remaned one with 5 old ones?

so put 6 remans in from chatham fuel injection on sunday. Been driving around everywhere and everything is running great.
Adjusted my intake and exhaust lash while i was in there, they were out a fair amount.
Truck fired up on the third try and a little white smoke and runs perfect now.
Thanks for all the help and insight
