Get your tranny taken care of and put a good turbo on there.

To go faster, its easy, you just need a tons of cash. You should put in the ford 5 speed auto, they have standby computers available for that tranny. You could build up your RH, but the RE is a better choice. More billet parts available for the RE. The next time my tranny piles up, I'm going the Allison or ford route. I want five to six gears in my truck. If you go the stick route, you have to get really good at moving that gear shift to get decent et at the track. I thought your building up another truck to go fast. Your probably like me, everything you own has to be torn apart, broke or modified.

Why would you go to an allison when all the fast duramaxes are going the 48re? Seems backwards.

My 02 truck is daily driver, not a race truck and I doubt that I'll make a pass down the track with it. I pull an RV, and would like that extra low gear to start off with. I might end up around 500rwhp area, twins, 5/6 speed tranny, and a exhaust brake, thats the dream. My brother has a spare complete Allison five speed and I can use, but I have to break this tranny first. I'm done with owning a RE48 tranny.

Other than not having a decent low first gear, its a awesome tranny. Mines been completely upgraded to a billet RE48, with all the mods and all the tricks. One thing about the DTT race tranny it does have that awesome 1-2 shift. My wife made me buy a big RV 5ver, so the dodge does come complaining on the starts. Your lucky with the five speed, you have a decent low gear. Last year I towed with my truck on cruise control. That water/meth stuff works pretty decent when you tow.

I hear you loudly on the one. Hows the CTD 75/92 build going buddy? I don't think that I own any vehicle that hasn't been modified someway.
