I have a couple 12cm's on HX-35's you could try, I would be willing to trade if it works.

It does on the compressor side with the backing plate, but not a 100% sure on the hot side. My turbos are just sitting collecting dust right now, I can pop off one of the hot sides, and we can see.

I'm pretty sure that the 35 tubine housing will not fit onto the 40 bearing housing. I haven't worked on one of these turbo in awhile, but if my memory is correct the 40 bearing housing is bigger than 35. A hot deal wink is to score a slightly used, but electronics toasted 6.7L turbo. They work nice and have the ablity to use the exhaust brake. There a fella on the comp diesel that has that set-up. I bet you can buy a 6.7L turbo for less than rebuilding that 40. Really that 40 needs an enlarged wastegate on 14cm. Thats what PDR did. They also used an large o-ring on compressor housing for sealing, holset housing leak that valuable boost.

Two advantages of using the VE351 or 6.7L turbo, variable vane turbine. The compressor impeller is nearly the same size. The turbine disk should be smaller as well. That should fix the laggy 40 issue, but doing that you creating more drive pressure and will limit top end power.

Rob, I think that I forgot to get a few pics for your set-up. I'll have few more with the air tubes, but I can't find them.
