HID"S Are In

Well i finally got around to installing this HID kit tonight i bought back in Nov 2011 on my 07 dually---i know i know it was on my to do list, life is real busy.It is a "Retro Solutions" kit with the 55Watt ballasts and 6000K lights. It was just over $200.00US shipped to my door plus another $80.00 for a spare ballast and bulb just in case. After reading the reviews from this and other sites they seem to offer the best plug and play kit at the time for a fair price, "WE WILL SEE IN A FEW WEEKS HOW THESE WORK OUT". All in all the install went easy, about 3 hours taking my time(beer breaks too)routing the wires nice/neat.Both ballast were mounted on the vertical frame that is behind/beside the intercooler and the resistors were put on the horizontal cross-member beside the hood latch to get some air flow and keep them cool.So far i give this kit and 8 out of 10 ,--only problem was the power wire to the battery could use a larger ring terminal to fit over the stud----it come with one to small to slide over the post .On start up it there is no headlight signal cancel feature anymore?????(so far as i have not done a drive/test run, just start in my driveway) ...PS---- the brolaw bought a no name kit off of e-bay a few years ago and it crapped out within a few weeks nothing but problems from the start and ended up yanking it out and going back to stock on this 2003.We will see how this one works for me over time.CHEERS hope this helps DW.

Did you get/ have projector headlights? The HIDs tend to scatter more in the stock headlight housing shining light into the eyes drivers in the oncoming lane...

My brother was pulled over a few times due to the lights on his car being in the eyes of the officer driving towards him.

No Sir ,they are not recommended for HID'S---still have the stock housings but i do have some Stampede head light cover that are an "PARTIAL TINTED"overlay to the stock headlight assemble. They cover up some of the light scatter and focus it more forward,so some adjustment may be needed. These covers tint the top of the assemble and add some cover to the sides as well.
