You don't need a stupid pump to make big power. Was your pump benched? How was the pump set-up? We been doing some testing on Tate's ride. Mostly its all in how you set-up the governor springs. I think that you have a 215 pump right? You should be able to get 700-800 rwhp on fuel. Of course if you want 1200-1400rwhp, send the pump to CDS. Thats what I would do. Where did you get the flange from? I was told that my head is just about done, but just waiting on getting the head flow benched. How you going to build the intake?

Mike, the pump is just a used 913 I bought off of Harry @ peak. So no idea what was done to it. Probably stock. I got the flange from ZZ custom fabrications.... thought I was getting aluminum but it is steel, so I will have to do some thinking and see if I want to send it back for aluminum. I have plans of building the intake somewhat similar to what is on ZZ website.

Tate, if I ever get my truck together and running maybe I can get you to tinker with the injection pump a little......

I forgot how much head porting you planning on doing? With that cam, those twins and current pump (after a Tate tune-up), its going to be one fast ride.

Have you finished the short block? What kinda of piston/bore fit do you have? What clearance did you set the rings at? Your running the marine pistons, am I correct?

Really?? Scheid has told me they see a pretty dramatic reduction in EGT's at the 4K level.

The only truck we ran above 4000 rpm's would peg the pyro, so its kinda hard to tell. Hook the truck to the dyno and you'll find out. I'm just going by what I was told by a few racers on the comp D forum. The biggest issue with the motor is that the head doesn't flow air decently. That all about to change once an after market head becomes available.

Swamp, how did you set-up you piston to cylinder clearance? I have to build a motor this year. I'll probably run mine at the maximum tolerance for the pistons. Did you coat the pistons? Which pistons did you do with again? I want a piston that has some teflon protection on the skirts. How did you set-up the cam? You're running the colt stage 3 right? Sounds wicked in Tate's truck. Sure runs hard between 3-4k. Make me want to own a fast P-pump ride.

Mike, the piston clearance was within a couple of thou on loose side of spec if that makes sense! 300000 kms and a hone job made for a little clearance. I want em a little loose anyways! Going for power, not longevity! Pistons are just the "Mexican Hat" pistons or AKA Industrial Bowl pistons. In any case it should lower my compression ratio into the 15:1 area. And yes I am running the Colt stage3. What kind of set up can one do with the cam? Come to think of it, maybe I had an offset key for the camgear. Been to long since I worked on my engine!

The 12v is a pretty easy engine to rebuild. So you did do an over bore on the cylinders? I'm going to machine the block, based on what ever pistons I get. I want to be on the maximum side of piston clearance, as this engine will get hot once and awhile. Did you check to see if the cam was within the grind spec? I want to find a set of pistons with a teflon skirt and some ceramic coatings, just so they don't melt during the 2000 deg's pyro pull. Anything I find is over $200 a piston. I can wreck a few engines for that kinda of money.

I did not overbore the cylinders. Still stock. As for the cam grind spec...... I have no idea. Just hoping that I got what I paid for. LOL

I probably will be running a set of twins very similar to your truck buddy, just with little spray to help out the little sticks. I found a shop out the states that makes a set of race sticks for a decent price. You know which delivery valves are in the pump?

My truck should be around 3000-3500 lbs with me hang on inside the truck. We have a custom NADP milk crate hopefully it passes tech at the track.

You going to get yours running this year?

I should have it running. Just really busy. Guess I should just make it a priority...... I put my old 191 dv in this 913 pump.

You have the motor together? Is it installed into the truck? Did you hack off the intake or you going to wait till next winter.

The motor I have right now, is toasted for this build, or I would be listening to the sweet 12v rattle sound. I can't wait to fire her up and see some smoke rings.

Hey,

Just a little update. I am going to be building my individual runner intake here pretty quick. Just took a pic, have the head all drilled and tapped. Just needing to get some good advice or info on if I should run both water meth and nitrous. Or just nitrous. Need to know if I should weld in 12 1/8 inch npt warts or just 6. Are 12v any good on water meth anyways with their non variable timing? The second pic shows some of the big intake restrictions that i will be porting out!

I would do the 12 1/8NPT ports. Who knows you might want to run a twin stage nos set-up. I'm running both nos and water on my engine. Is that your head? Looking good buddy.
