Clutch I think
Clutch I think
Stupid truck....My truck didn't slip the clutch during the dyno, but it does slip in 5th gear when a hammer on it.Don't think the 5th gear would slip.Where do you guys think I should get a clutch from??
Dave, I am not communicating properly. The gear doesn't slip. Its the clutch only. Its just that in 5th gear you are multiplying the output torque with OD ratio and its a harder pull on the clutch.. Gears don't slip..
There are other vendors for clutches, they are just not an approved vendor here and are not endorsed or even allowed by the DTR. There are many other forums to discuss Valiar, just not here. VanHaisely, or other are also discussed here, just not the V word.

I don't know if its the rear end or the transmission...I could tell the old girl is getting loose when I shift gears.....I should look into doing a complete overhaul on the transmission also.Don't think I will overhaul this transmission on the kitchen table like the super T-10 4-speed I did a few years back..

You should just sell your truck and buy mine! (needs nothing) It's ready for whatever you want to throw at it. LOL.
Andy
Do what Andy says. I'll take your truck then, and I'll deal with the drivetrain issues. I'll give you $500 when I get home.
Even though its pretty cliche to push SB here, I have been happy with mine. That said, Valair has a good following and I haven't heard of any real complaints from them. Are you just looking for a good single disc, or are you gonna step up to a dual? Like Jason said, look to Peak or PDR. Personally, I'd go to Peak first, since that is where the guru's are at. Which reminds me, I need to call them.
If you're gonna overhaul your tranny, I'd personally look for a 98-03 top cover for it. You get the better shifter design, much tighter feel. I never really liked the way the 94-97 trannies shifted. JMO.
