Bleeding a 6.9 Ford

Hey guys got a question from a friend with an '86 Ford 6.9. He changed the fuel filter and now cann't get it to run right. He bleeds the system using the schrader valve and it will start up but run a bit rough. He runs it up and down the highway and it still runs rough. If he turns it off it won't restart if left for awhile.

What do think? Air in one or two of the injection lines? Crack them one at time? Never worked on a Ford, is it easy to get to the lines and crack them?

Yes, you can crack the lines one at a time and see if you can get the air out. Crack the lines at the injector after you get it running. Also check the line running from the fuel filter for trash. Make sure the filter is tight and dose'nt have a double gasket....

Also, just for fun, have a look at the return line near the back of the engine, as well as the connector lines between the injectors. If one of these goes goofy, it can cause a loss of prime, in short order
