Anyone run into this one on the heater fan?

Upon return from a business trip, my heater fan appears to have quit working with the key on or engine running. However, when I turn my Espar on either by program or start button, the heater fan comes on. I'm not sure why I checked all the fuses as it works under the above circumstances, but I reluctantly did knowingbth answer ............ they're all good noinetheless. No kidding! Have to do some Espar fan harness testing this weekend I guess. Occasionally it'll come on while driving.

Depends on how its wired in. The way mine is, the Espar has its own relay to turn the fan on. Some will just attach to the trigger wire of the factory relay. If its your the former, pull the factory relay and test it out, switch it out.

I have the D4W with 7 day timer. There is an electrical harness with OEM style plugs that is run from the Espar relay wiring harness and connects at the blower under the passenger dash.

Sounds like it bypasses the factory wiring when the Espar turns on the fan. Check underhood relays and fuses.

Have you knowledge where the relays are at in a 3rd Gen? In my '98 all fuses and relays were together.

I have already checked every single fuse that I can find - all good. I will check again though.

Got it! Painstakingly and a few more scratches on my fingers and back of my hands, but got it.

Do not take Hwy 18 across between Estevan and Coronach in Southern SK. I knew it was rough because I obviously felt while driving at 50 and less. It would have been faster and smoother to go all the way around by Weyburn.

Who would've thought it was bad enough to shake two wires out of the back of the Espar fuse block to cause all the havoc. Every fuse in the truck was good, but useless if no wires attached.

No offense to anyone living in SK - -freakin crap SK roads. This last trip was 2000 km of rodeo buck in a wheeled vehicle. I have never been so glad to live on the AB side even though we have some highways that are less than desired.

I'm going to have to start taking a look at everything else as time permits.
