Since it says up to 400hp, I'd guess it would likely be a 57/65 turbo. I'd still go for the 62mm. Are you gonna tow with it? If not, that 62 will be great. I can't comment on the towing manners of it, but theres lots of guys towing with 62's. Jlent is towing at 500-550 rwhp on a 64mm.

Is PDR still in business? You don't hear much from them anymore?

Let me know how you make out on price and turbo size. I'm with Tate either go with the S362/68 or the S364/68, even a mild 24v p-pump engine should put you into 500-600rwhp range, its just abit of tuning. A S357 size of turbo is a waste of time and will run hot. You going to put in a camshaft?

I probably can get you either one of those turbos without a wastegate for around $1000, borgwarner/airwerks, same stuff as PDR or BD, just without the big sticker price.

I got a quote back from ED for around 1700 UsD this includes a race cover which pardon my ignorance. I would asume is a scatter shield ??
plus shipping
Mike i really want a gate on the turbo that is were i think i am going to pay
When i find the right 24 valve yes i figure if i am that far in to it (gear casing ) I may as well do a cam to
The one that i found turned out to be out of a roll over not such a good deal as first thought
Mike this turbo is going to start life in my 1992 motor first I think the 64 may be a tad to big

Race cover is a compressor cover with a higher A/R ratio. Increases the flow characteristics of that compressor. I've been contemplating getting one for my 66, if I don't step up in size.

Because you can still over spin a 64/68, and just because it will make 60psi doesn't mean it is a good idea to do so.

So your saying a guy would have to put in an aftermarket wastegate inline for it to be some what streetable.

Tate is right on, but to make it a little simpler for guys like me . It is a physically larger cover (with some other enhancements for flow) that will flow more air, but just like anything you can't have your cake and eat it too. You will loose a little spool up with one.

Not for streetability, but to protect the turbo, and to make optimum power. It is hard on the turbo for it to be pushed out of its efficiency range, and you make the best power with drive and manifold pressure at ~ 1:1.

It wouldn't affect the streetability of the turbo unless its an overly large or small housing. Normal day to day use, your wastegate never opens. Its only at the higher pressures it opens to keep the compressor inside its map.

Oh and yes to confirm what Tate had already assumed, the PDR Super 300 is just the standard 57/65 S300 turbo.

Thanks guys for the info, still intrested in it. I think you can get a gate for less than $700 so it's still a good deal.
