08 FORD 6.4lt---DIESEL

Any members know where a buddy of mine can get aftermarket oil/fuel filters(warranty approved) for a Ford diesel/6.4 beside the dealer-----dealer want 125.00can for the fuel filter+80.00 for the oil filter.Basic oil change /service at the dealer is 350.00+----I told him that Ford sure is nice but that's about it.Any names/websites/links if possible,i'm not to familiar with the aftermarket Ford stuff----don't even know if they have the option with Fleetguard/Cummins like we do or do they have to suck it up and only head to the dealer and come out walking funny after.DW

You friend is getting a super sonic shaft on that. International will have the filters at a third the price. Your friend should file a deceptive business charge against that dealer for charging that kind of money. Oh yeah, the oil and fuel filters are the same as on the 6.0. The fuel filter kit, (both secondary and primary) are available at International. The oil filter is a FL2016 available at Autozone, Advance, Reilly's, Walmart for 10 bucks US. And that is a Motorcraft filter.

If your friend goes to International just tell them you need fuel and oil filters for a VT365.

agreed x eleventy billion.

Call Glover International on 90th and 52Ave SE. get a price on them there. its an international engine, if it has International filters on it, it better be warrantee approved.

but i actually just did a service on my '08 F350 6.4L service truck. the fuel filter does not cross with the 6.0L engine. it does not fit don't try and use a 6.0L fuel filter.

What are the fuel filters superceded too? My bad, I honestly thought they were the same 4 micron filters. Thanks for the warning.

They must be a tad larger to accommodate flow rates for exhaust after treatment? Deeper cap?

I was a month ago now, but I'm pretty sure the 6.4 filter a almost an 1" taller than the 6.0 filter. I didn't look into the Mic ratings though.

Oh ya the little one goes down on the driverside framerail in that module. there. it points rearward parrallel to the ground and frame. you have to drain the bolck 1st, theres a little bleeder, you can't miss it. both fuel filters come in the same box. that I got.

I even think that, we got the kit that I used from the new Woodridge ford dealer over the counter was $76. IIRC. casue we only had 6.0 filters on hand for the older service trucks, and my 6.4L truck was down without it. so I'm sure they can be had chaeper than that even.

Intertrashional was always substantially less money for the exact same filters. I could get a set of ff's for my 6.0 for 30 bucks US. Oil filter for 6 bucks US.
