Are the '91 Ford Diesel's IDI or TDI? My dad said it was IDI and my brother said it was TDI. And I thought it was IDI too.Any help is needed. Im just tryin to do a trade on my 4 wheeler and this truck.<br>Thanks<br>SD03

 

Yes they were indirect injection. The direct injection came in early 95 late 94 with the Powerstroke. The turbo diesel was a turbo Indirect injection engine.<br>I think thats right. Thats what I have always heard.<br>DM01

You can put a turbo on anything. But the custom header work and downpipe and custom tubing is a big PIA.

 

Yeah they make kits for like 4k from banks. My friend well EX-friend took a HX-35 with a 18 housing and put it on his 92 7.3 IDI. That was a lot cheaper. I don't know how hard it was.<br>Too bad you don't live up here there is this kid that wants 3k for his 4x4 5spd reg cab ford 91 with the Banks turbo and guages.<br>DM01

 

I knew it would be a PIA but oh well I will just wait and save more for a Cummins So I can make the poeple next door &gt; Hear that Cummins at 6:30 in the morning. ;D Then leave it in 1st or 2nd all the way down the street.Thanks for the help.
