Boost Bolt

Well i got a boost gauge, but unsure where to put the line. Do i tap into the horn or use a boost bolt. Also where would i find a boost bolt locally, i know none of you are from lethbridge but we might have a store that might carry one. Any suggestion?

You can get it from Vulcan Performance. They will ship USPS so there is no brokerage fees.

Hmm..When I did my boost gauge, there was a 1/4 plug nut(I think that was the size) on the side of the head.I just went to home depot and got a 90 degree elbow with a compression fitting..I remove the plug nut and screwed in my elbow..

Seems to be accurate...I installed it 4 years ago and nothing has blown up.Doesn't seem to have a boost leak.I also bought a tube of the liquid white sealer at home depot that is good for air and liquid pressure a placed that on the treads.I used brass fits on my compressor with no leaks.

Just drill and tap the air horn. You could also weld in a 1/4npt bung into the air tube just going into the air horn. Something off the head, there plugs all over the place. Its just air pressure. You could also run pressure off the turbo. I used the 1/4npt as well. The gauge should have adapters to go 1/8npt. Find a plumbing bushing. Thread sealant is a must. I had GCL put in my gauges when I first got started, about 7 seven yrs or so. The gauge fitting leaked pretty bad, but not anymore. Back then I was lazier I guess.

well i found something simular to a boost bolt, it's a 1/4" male to 1/8 pressure fitting with that small ferrule. Talked to a mech today at a shop and he said that's all they use when they install these gauges on the 3rd gens. I hope he's right, anyway ill go look and see if what i got will fit where the dieselmanor site tells ya to put it, and if im wrong ill just port the horn.

Dis-regard the above post, the fittings i bought were just a c hair too big. Im guessing cause i didnt buy the metric size, tomorrow back to the fitting place and try again. Unless i decide to just tap the horn tonight. After the hockey game and a few brews ofcoarse. Go Canada Go!!! or i should say EH OH Canada Go, i hate that new cheer.

I would try to tap you stock one, if you mess up it's just another excuse to buy a intake horn, right??. If you do remove you horn to tap it try to get new dodge gaskets first, they didn't look resuable to me.
