Smile OEM Fifth Wheel Hitch Question

I bought a pre-owned 2010 SRW CTD LB about 2 years ago. It appears that there is a B&W Turnover Ball hitch.

I had the local RV shop try and take it out to save weight, I carry a heavish camper and wanted some weight off the rear axle. RV shop said it likely was a factory install and would not come out without taking the bed off or cutting the hitch out.

Did Dodge have an OEM fifth wheel hitch option?

Now glad they did not take it out since considering a 5th wheel for retirement travel.

Thanks for your input.

Not until 2013 model year, if it is a B&W goose then it's installed without removing or undoing or lifting the bed. B&W sells a "companion" 5ver hitch that will just drop right into that goose hitch. I use their companion and it's a VERY nice hitch.

+1 on the B&W Companion. No rails in your bed and leaves the gooseneck option intact.
