Integrated Brake Controller Issue on 2015 3500

I have a 2015 3500 4x4 Ram. I have towed the same 36 foot fifth wheel since the truck was new. Last year it was necessary to turn the gain all the way up to 10 to get a small amount of braking from the trailer. I replaced the brakes on the trailer but am still getting the same response from the brakes. With the controller set on 10 the truck/trailer will roll at an idle. The gauge on the dash shows 100% application. Is this a known problem with the factory controller on these?

Thanks for any help you can give.

No definitive answer for you, but as a suggestion have you checked the brake voltages at each brake with the brakes applied? How about a bad ground between the fiver and the truck?

Thanks for the reply Mexstan. I have not checked voltage yet. I did just do a brake replacement on the trailer and was told it might take a few stops to get the brakes broke in. I will try that this weekend, if it doesn't improve..... back to the drawing board.

Sounds like the trailer brakes need further adjustment

I had the same issue, pulling 40' fifth wheel trailer. I replaced it with a prodigy P3 controller work like a champ
