Integrated Brake Controller or Not?

I've read a lot about how the integrated brake controllers don't brake hard enough with heavy loads. That being said, would you have gone with a Tekonsha P3 or the integrated controller if you had to do it all over again? Integrated is nice, but I can get a P3 for less and it looks stellar....

If I can give my 2 cents, if you're going aftermarket, get a MaxBrake. Truly proportional braking, the harder you press the brake pedal, the harder the trailer brakes, regardless if the truck is slowing down or not. Really nice in the winter. A little more money, but when you consider what you have invested in your truck and trailer and the added safety it provides, its pretty cheap and works amazingly well. I never knew electric brakes could be so smooth, linear AND powerful. No jerking, sliding or locking up the tires.
