Going from jump seat to console...

I've seen it done with A/T trucks, can it be done with a G56?
Is there room, after removing the forward tray of the console, for the shifter?

Truck is a 2012 3500 Big Horn SLT

I seem to remember someone on here doing it back in 2011/12 but they used a short shift lever.
