Sweet package! Seems to be the same as my Mega Cab except for the power. Smooth, lots of torque, pulls hard, shifts great. I really liked it a lot. Too bad I bought just before the new motor came out.

I've heard just the opposite

Everyone that I've talked to that owns a 6.7L wishes they would have bought sooner. Especially when they are on their 3rd turbo and 2nd or 3rd DPF. Unless they have fixed everything in the last year or so; stay away unless you can run it with a delete kit.

Ummmmm...the original poster owns a 2011 with a 6.7l , by "new motor" he means the 800ft/lb engine. I take it he's OK with his 2011 though.

Please take a minute to talk to me and "everyone" else on the 4th gen forum, I bet most of us are happy with the 6.7l

Maybe you could post a poll or something like "Would you rather have a 2007 with the 5.9 than your 4th gen?" in order to qualify your statement.

Yes, I have a 2011 and have been very happy with it. Other than one EGR code at 7K miles, I have had no issues whatsoever. 21K on the clock now and I would not trade back for my 07 5.9. The refinement of this new platform is far superior.

Any time I read phrases like "Everyone I know who..." the BS meter lights up and whistles blow as the needle swings to the far end of the scale.

I'll only add my vote to the upcoming chorus of 6.7 owners who really dig the new ride and motors. There are no problems with a 6.7 that deleting the EPA won't cure. Frankly, that’s true of anything on wheels today.

With the tag line showing a 91 1/2 W250, perhaps you might like take one of the new ones for a test drive - things have gotten better since Fred Flintstone and Barney double dated Wilma and Betty. After all, its always better to form opinions based on experience than rumor.

I agree with stargeezer a bit. I love the 1st gens dearly, but just got tired of the interiors falling apart. And the ride of the second gens are better too. But I won't move on to a 3rd or 4th gen because I just cn't stand the 4 door styling. I like the quads. now having said that I love the 1st gen 4 door short beds! I have a neighbor with a 3rd gen with 200k on it. I have done the maintenance on it since new and it is almost bulletproof. Cracked #4 fuel line has been the only issue. So as much as I hate moving into the computer age, in the long run I think they are worth moving on if you like the truck.

I think with the upgrades I have mine should be titled an "HO+"

My 2011 is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

My 2011 Dodge 2500 was the precursor to my 2011.5 3500 800HO. The best truck I have ever owned hands down. Pulls like a beast.

He must have it confused with Fords, lol.

Glad to hear they are making a heck of a truck. Now if they just weren't so proud of them. Oh well I will have a used one some day.

Well, truthfully my 2005 CTD with an Edge on power level three did pull a bit better than my 2011 CTD with the HO engine. Of course we aren't comparing stock engines. For a stock truck the 2011 HO pulls the best by far. The tranny is vastly improved, the integrated exhaust brake is awesome, and the ride is superior. I'm sure with a tuner and delete kit it will be a beast.

My 2005 did get about 1 MPG better economy towing the same fifth wheel so I'm not as excited about the fuel economy though I'm sure I'll get that back with the deletes. Having owned at least eight Dodge CTD trucks I think I'm qualified to say this is the best, and most refined of the bunch. The jury is out on reliability on the 2011 because it doesn't have many miles on it yet, but our 2007 3rd gen has been flawless.

2012 HO Here, 2 months old...so far...fantastic. Except for a boulder/big rock jumping out and attacking and crushing the rear dually box quater panel.
