Dash mat reflection/glare

Just bought a dash mat to reduce dashboard heat. Truck is a 2011 Laramie with a dark brown dash and boy does that dash get hot. I usually turn the A/C to defrost to try to cool the dash off.

Back to the question; installed the dash mat (tan in color) and now there is a reflection. The reflection is enough to bother me while driving. So what to do? Tolerate the reflection for reduced dash heat, or back to the dash inferno.

Any suggestions?

Wow! I have an annoying reflection that I want to get rid of and I don't even have a dash mat. I had contemplated on getting one to get rid of the reflection, but if you have a reflection with one, then the only reason I would buy one is because the dash gets so hot.

But to answer your question, I would try to deal with it, I'm sure it helps with keeping the internal ducts cool as well.

Well I do have a reflection without the dash mat. I can see the lighter tan color part of the dash (perimeter) and the dark brown color, but the dark brown is barely visible. Even dusty doesn't help much, I know' I rarely clean off the dash.

any light color material will cause a reflection. darker is better for dash mats

Your right! The glare in my windshield is from the lighter part of the dash. Thanks for suggesting that!

Well I have decided to return the dash mat; nice product, but to much reflection.

I considered going to the dark brown for the dash mat, but that defeats the whole purpose of trying to cool the dash. Oh well.

If you think tan projects a reflection, stay away from the camos! I had the wetlands max HD and holy crap the glare was insane at times, be glad you have a solid color.

go with the dark mat. it may get warm, but nowhere near as hot as the dash itself gets. also, it protects the cheap plastic from the UV, which is what will cause it to crack in the future
