To buy or not to buy?

Hey guys been a while since i have been on here. I am seriously considering making the plunge into a new dodge. Looking a 2010 3500 Dually. St Package +chrome +snowplow package +carpet delete, 6 speed, miner gray I think? Sticker price 44,500 got it down to 38-39k +tt&l. I really like the truck but my 05 5.9 has been really good to me. My 05 has 140k miles on it and I only owe maybe 13 on it. What to do bite the bullet and upgrade or drive the 05 till the wheels fall off? Any input appreciated

Depends on your financial status, and if you need a different truck. I just paid mine off, and am in no hurry to have another payment.

In the famous last words of a fool. I wouldnt do the deal unless my payments stay the same. I would put enough money down to get my payments down. My truck generates about 30% of my income. And I drive it daily at work. I probably average 35k miles a year. So my thought process is sale mine buy a new one enjoy it for 5 years or so then I'm right back in the same boat. I like not having to put my truck in the shop all the time or having to worry about things. However I have recently installed new tires, new throw out bearing, and completely rebuilt the front end. But the bottom line is even if my payments stay the same right now I owe 13k if I do the deal I will owe 40k.

I'd do it if you could pull them down a few thousand more. I got a killer deal on a 2500 Diesel ST Crew cab with Chrome pkg, popular equip group, trailer brakes, LSD, and automatic (MSRP 45050). Out the door 46K with a TON of negative equity. With rebates and all, they had to give the equivelent of about 10000 off the truck to get to that number (overallowed on the trade and knocked 6500 off the truck). So you've got a bit more movement in that deal. The trick is to shop at least 3 different high volume dealers and pick from the most aggressive.

...wow....you lost your rear huh? I hope you got some low % rate on that 45K.....

* I want to go tomorrow and get a new 3500 SRW Crew, LB, 4X4...... BUT I cannot justify going up in my payments and having all that extra money in tags, maintenance +++++++..... I have 0% Interest on my truck now and each month the total drops by the amount I pay .....

Could have been worse! That's what happens when you owe 30000 on a Jeep worth about 20000 max. I think it's not a bad deal at all. I did secure extremely great financing since my credit was outstanding.
