Brake Controller Mounting in 2010

The truck that i purchased did not come equiped with an integrated brake controller, so i installed the one that i had in my 07.

This probably isn't the best option, but it does work pretty good. and doesnt interfere with my leg.

Don't know much about your brake controller but you have the best radar detector made!!

I've got 3 of them. I hardly ever drive fast enough to get ticketed anymore but it helps keep me in check. It goes off and I instantly check my speed.

You're lucky...the integrated brake controller is a huge steaming pile of crap!!!!

Prodigy is a pretty good controller...I'm about to disable my factory one and add an aftermarket unit!

I have the same set up, but in a different location. My truck’s a 6 speed and it is behind the shifter to the left and above the floor console. I will try to get a picture of it. Love my passport 8500 x50 (blue display) but it tends to give false Laser alarms and I need to send it in for updates (has anyone sent theirs to Escort, if so how long did it take and price?). If I did it all over again I would have bought a Valentine, those are worth every penny.

That's where the I have it mounted in my '03. Worry about what might happen to my knee in an accident though....

It doesn't have any braking power...I have it set at 10, and the highest I can get it to go with the brakes is about 30...basically, I get no trailer braking.

Now, if I was towing a 6K lbs load like you see on commercials, so what...but my trailer weighs 8K lbs, and we hardly ever put anything on it that weighs less than 15K...so my GVW when I pull it is almost always close to 30K lbs.

If it wasn't for the exhaust brake, I'd be REALLY upset...
