blasted engine light came on

Today the engine light came on. Truck didn't run any different, no noises, gauges all seemed fine. Since I was only a few blocks from the dealer I generally go to I thought I'd run by to see what this was about. Thankfully they didn't make me wait long and checked it to see why the light was on. The code they came up with is P2271 (oxygen sensor?)

Anyone have any experience with these? Is this going to be expensive? Should it be covered under warranty(58000 miles)? Any thoughts would be very appreciated!

I left with the truck and have an appt to drop it back off on Wednesday so they can do a diagnostics and tell me what it will take to fix it.

Thanks guys!

I also have a 2010 3500 and my check engine light came on in Sept. It was the 02 sensors. Repaired under my extended warranty.

My regular 3 year warranty ran out the first of July but I extended it to 5 years and it was covered. I only have 34,000 Kms. on this truck.

Pretty common, have the dealer fix it under warranty.

As SOhappy mentioned, there is a known problem with the '10s O2 sensor wiring harness. There is a replacement harness that gets spliced/soldered in to replace the original harness.
