2011 RAM Towing Mirrors
Me, I don't much care for the tow mirrors. Don't get me wrong; they're better than not having them, but the spot mirror is small and shaped all funny to try to accommodate being both flat and vertical. And, the mirror is overall just kinda small.
I really miss the big vertical rectangular mirrors with 3-4 inch round spot mirrors that trucks used to sport and that semis still have. Yea, not so aerodynamic, but really functional.

Yes they are the chrome ones with all of the goodies. It's not like I had much of a choice in the matter. They were purchased piecemeal as replacements. It was odd but Dodge (not the dealer) repeatedly told me that I could not buy the tow mirrors as an aftermarket for my truck since my truck came equipped with the non tow mirrors. I had to use a vin # off of a 2011 new truck at the dealership to order replacement mirrors for that 2011 truck. Things may have changed. I guess as a new design many of the parts weren't yet ready. My old mirrors are on ebay now. My reserve of $150 was met in two days. Still have several days left.
Removing the Mirrors.

After the six Plastic torx screws are removed as well as the black inserts gently lift the door panel up high enough to clear the door ****. Then reach behind to the geen electrical wire still connected to the door panel. Squeese the front tab (located in front-towards the front of the truck) and gently pull it out.

While removing the last 10mm nut be sure to support the mirror. after removing the last nut you may have to gently pull the mirror off because the rubber may stick. (Don't overtighten the nuts on the new mirror or you may break something). There is also a plastic tab on the mirror wire that is attached to the door frame. Pull that off as one piece since the new mirrors have this tab. The tricky part of putting the door panel on is getting the door **** back through the hole in the panel to reattched it to the door. Once you do one side the other side will be a breeze.
