the mounting is not the same, but i read some where some one has been using the older mount with the new mirrors, ill try to find it and send it to you

You may remember an early recall on these mirrors? Some of the early ones came apart as the holding ring would detach itself from the shaft, the same ring that is described being removed in the swap. Sounds like a recipe for disaster unless you can get ahold of the recall pieces to insure the mirror will indeed stay together.
