tire pressure help

I put Nitto Mud Grapplers on my truck yesterday. The tires themselves call for max 65 psi but my truck calls for 65 in front and 80 in rear. I put 65psi in all tires and now my tpms is going off. What should I do here? Should I fill rear tires with more air or what? I drive 2011 2500 4x4 and I rarely haul anything. Thanks all for the help in advance.

I would not go over the tire`s recommendation, my truck say 55 front and 70 rear loaded, E rated tires, I run 65 front and 70 rear, loaded, my tires can run at 80f and 80r, makes it too ruff at 80

One fella' on here put all the TPMS sensors in a PVC pipe with bonded endcaps and a scrader valve in the end. Fill it to 80psi and zip tie it under the truck.

I can't speak for your 2011 but my 2010 has a Low Load button on the center console which allows you to lower the rear tire pressure if you don't haul or tow heavy loads without illuminating the TMPS light.

There is a sticker in the driver door jamb telling you the Low Load pressures. For mine they are 60 PSI (front) and 45 PSI (rear), instructions are in your owner manual as well. It makes a huge difference in ride comfort!

Or you can go to a dealer and they can update tire pressure thresholds for when tire pressure warning will turn light on.

If you know anyone with the AutoEnginuity scan tool, the pressures can be adjusted using that. If your ever near Vegas I can set the limits for you.

What is the factory TPMS threshold for the warning? I don't want to run at 80 PSI all the time. 60 would be more like it.

According to the placard on my truck:

Max Load: 60 front/70 rear

Light Load: 60 front/45 rear

I typically run the pressures at 60/50, unless I am hauling, which I will set the rear pressure accordingly. If I recall, the light load button won't activate if the pressure is above 55 psi.

These are good pressures as I was able to get nearly 75K miles out of the stock tires and still probably had about another 2K-5K according to Lincoln's head.

As for the threshold, I don't recall off hand and couldn't find it in the SM, however, last time I hooked up my AutoEnginuity Scanner I found the setting to modify the thresholds for when the TPM will notify when the tire pressure is outside of those parameters. I want to say it was within 10 psi, but not certain. This is a good feature if running other than stock tires.
